Googles Plus One Button & Search Engine Optimization

by AuctionGuerilla Leave a reply »

In my last post – I mentioned one way to build an online business. Today I’ve been looking at some of the best Search Engine googles-plus-one-buttonOptimization practices to have my team of guys work on. I’ve done some SEO myself in the past and I’ve always used ‘white hat’ SEO. This has included manually submitting content about your site on other sites and your own site and building natural links back to your main sites. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, however it’s a good place to start.

I also have an SEO Hosting account which allows you to host different websites with different IP addresses so your websites are not all linked together with the same IP (Internet Protocol) address.

SEO Hosting belong to Hostgator, the best hosting provider in my opinion.

I’ve never used any automation software except I must admit to using an article spinner on a few occasions. Anyhow, I’ll get to the point. I found this information over at the warrior forum..

http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-ppc-seo-discussion-forum/196883-search-engine-optimization-frequently-asked-questions.html

It gives you a complete run down on search engine optimization and I thought it would be useful to share this with you.

You have to be careful on the warrior forum because you can end up buying lots of stuff you don’t need but some of the information is really useful if you are doing anything online.

The second thing I wanted to share today is the importance of having Googles plus one button on your site. This is something Google is trying out a bit like a Facebook ‘Like’ button. My prediction is that once Google has enough data from the ‘+1’ button’ votes this will play a part in how Google arranges it’s most popular pages in the search engines.

If you have a blog you can simply install the ‘Googles Plus One Button’ widget.

To try it out, and If you think this information is useful, hit the + 1 button here on the left..

    Hi John

I had read about the Google +1 previously and you are the first person I have come across to use it.

I have never been into Facebook or Twitter but if as you state +1 will eventually effect SEO then I think I had better follow suit.

    Hi John,

I extracted your comment to my blog from my Akismet Trash. Aksimet stats are now -1 to + 4241. I notice some mutual friends have posted some comments.

I don’t know much about Google+1 yet, but maybe you can enlighten me.

    Hi John,
I’ve installed the plus1 button on my blog but I am not sure how many people are using it. lol

It is something need to play close attention to…it will be interesting to see how much weight Google ends up giving it.

I love Hostgator but I’ve never heard of the SEO Hosting account before. Never ceases to amaze me what I learn when blog hopping 🙂

    Thanks for the education…

    Hey John,

Thanks for that WSO link – I am going to bookmark it and go back when I have a chance – SEO and me are somewhat familiar 😉

I have bought some stuff off there, nothing that I didn’t already know, but a few things were helpful.

    Thanks for the info!

      Hi Kathy

I think the Facebook crowd and the Google crowd certainly cross over somewhat
however there are specific differences with people who are always logged into
Facebook and people who are always logged into Google.

I’m sure it will be widely adopted in time.

    Hey John

I’ve not got round to using Google plus yet but think you’ve convinced me to give it a go.

Some say it’s gonna be bigger than Facebook but I can’t see that somehow can you.

Take care and I’ll catch up with you soon

      Hi Dawn,

In my opinion it’s better to implement as much as possible
and adding the Google plus one button to a wordpress blog
      takes literally minutes.

    Hey John,

You know I absolutely love that feature @ Hostgator that you just mentioned separating your IPS on one hosting account ….

Ingenious, talk about making your websites strand out in the search results, I’ll seriously look into doing that if my hosting company offers that hosting facility?

SEO will always be pretty powerful for websites no matter how much Google change their algorithms, because let’s face it Google can only stay in business offering website owners *targeted traffic* from high ranking sites that use….
    SEO…period!

    Great post John as usual….Ed.

      Hi Ed,

Google recognize website IP addresses when considering link juice.
Thats why its useful to host your websites on different IP address if they
link to each other. Hostgator have an SEO hosting service and they even
transferred all my websites to the new accounts.
All I had to do was sign up!

Hi John, Craig Sowerby recently released a series of interviews he’d carried out with 4 SEO specialists and very kindly let me have a copy. But I will also follow your link to the Warrior forum, thanks.

Google have opened the Google Plus network as well now. It was opened for BETA testing and was Invite only but I read somewhere that as of the start of the month it would be open to the public, how true that is i don’t know John.

If you’d like an Invite to the network John send me an email with your gmail account and I’ll get one out to you.

Whether it’ll be as big as Facebook is yet to be seen but it is getting a lot of publicity and quiet a few blogs are talking about it.

Good to see you back John,

    Catch up soon mate
    Barry

PS Comment luv says to tell you it needs an update 😉

I just went ahead and added it to my personal blog (iBlogPlanet). I have it showing up on each individual blog post. Is that fine? Or would you recommend just having it on the homepage?

Also, does Google have some sort of way of tracking down fake clicks, like they do with Adsense. I feel like a lot of people could abuse the whole Google 1+ system.
